Galvanize It! for Corrosion Protection - $27.50

Course Overview

Galvanize It! for Corrosion Protection will assist you in the design and integration of corrosion protection into your project. The seminar material includes corrosion theory, design of galvanized steel products for quality galvanizing, discussion and video footage of the actual galvanizing process, pertinent ASTM specifications, inspection and painting over the galvanized coating, cathodic protection, electrochemical and galvanic corrosion, and much more.

Galvanize It! for Corrosion Protection is presented by the American Galvanizers Association (AGA).  Founded in 1935, the AGA has remained the first and last source of information for the hot-dip galvanizing industry.  One of the AGA’s primary missions is to provide information and assistance to the specifying community on topics such as specification interpretation, project applications, design issues, and any technical research or support that may be required.

Learning Objectives

The purpose of this seminar is to inform and educate architects, engineers, and other specifiers about hot-dip galvanized steel and how it can address the growing corrosion problem throughout North America.

  • Recognize the corrosion issues confronting North America
  • Describe how zinc coatings, specifically hot-dip galvanizing, can protect against steel corrosion
  • Incorporate sound corrosion protection into the design of steel products will significantly decrease maintenance costs over the life of a structure
  • Describe how painting over hot-dip galvanizing can prolong service life and provide needed/desired aesthetics
